Oster McBride serves a variety of clients nationally and has earned wide recognition for exceptional legal representation at reasonable rates. Our team has extensive experience in civil litigation, appellate litigation, white collar criminal matters, and blockchain and cryptocurrency matters.
Civil Litigation
Steve Oster has over 30 years of experience litigating throughout the country against some of the country’s most prestigious law firms. He is rated “Preeminent” by his peers and, together with Oster McBride’s litigation team, has compiled an enviable record of favorable decisions and settlements. Oster McBride has extensive jury and bench trial experience and has successfully handled commercial, antitrust, contract, securities, employment, personal injury, toxic tort, insurance, and other litigation.
White Collar Criminal Matters
Cameron McBride is a former Assistant United States Attorney with over 60 jury trial wins. Together, she and our team of attorneys offer first-rate defense of white-collar criminal matters. Oster McBride recently represented a client facing 25 years of incarceration on a felony charge. The team negotiated a plea agreement for a misdemeanor, two months’ home detention, and probation.
Mass Torts
When numerous people have claims against a single product or device, cases often become consolidated into a single action. This process keeps the courts from being overwhelmed by hundreds, or even thousands, of similar claims involving a single product or defendant.
Oster McBride’s nationwide mass torts practice focuses on two main areas:
- Product Liability: When a consumer product or medical device is defective and/or improperly designed and causes significant harm, individual victims may bring actions against manufacturers and distributors to hold them accountable. Oster McBride represents a plaintiff who suffered significant harm from a metal-on-metal joint replacement.
- Toxic Torts: This area of practice includes Plaintiffs who have suffered harm from toxic substances, such as lead, benzene, Roundup weed killer, and opioids, among others. Oster McBride currently represents plaintiffs injured by prescription and OTC Zantac.
Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Matters
Oster McBride is one of the area’s “go-to” law firms for obtaining FinTech registration and state and federal licensing for both U.S. and foreign cryptocurrency exchanges. The firm has established relationships with U.S. banks willing to partner with our clients in this industry. Oster McBride has experience evaluating proposed Initial Coin Offerings, the legality of various tokens, regulatory and treaty requirements, and U.S. and state money transmitter requirements. Ms. McBride’s experience as a former Assistant U.S. Attorney provides a unique and valuable perspective on money laundering and related matters. We are well-positioned to identify threats and opportunities for established and nascent crypto companies.
Appellate Litigation
Steve Oster is admitted to the Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fourth, Federal, District of Columbia, and Eleventh Circuits, as well as the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Oster McBride associates with a former U.S. Supreme Court clerk for particularly challenging matters. The Oster McBride team accepts appellate engagements on a flat fee or alternative basis.
